This is what all vegans and vegetarians have been waiting for! VegeWay is our first vegan fast food restaurant in Las Vegas. The first location opened last year (2016) and a 2nd location opened a few months ago (2017).
The first VegeWay location opened in September 2016 at 7790 S. Jones Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89139 in the Southwest part of the valley where an old Dunkin Donuts used to be. Since the first location was such a success they opened up a 2nd location in Centennial Hills at 6410 N Durango Dr, Las Vegas, NV 89149. This location used to be an Arby’s on the corner of Durango and Centennial Hills Blvd.
The Chef Behind VegeWay
Constructing a great vegan burger—the kind that makes you not miss meat at all—seems like one of the toughest tasks in the culinary world. But if anyone can pull it off, it’s chef Kenny Chye, the brain behind the popular Veggie House in Chinatown, an all-vegetarian restaurant that specializes in dishes using meat substitutes. Chye, who had three successful restaurants in San Diego before coming to Las Vegas, opened Veggie House because he had to watch his own health and change his diet.
His new place, VegeWay, is a fast-food joint looking to do with vegan food what In-N-Out Burger does with meat—quality grub at a reasonable price point. The VegeWay burger won’t make you think you’re eating meat, but it’s so good it won’t matter. As Chye has proven at Veggie House, it’s not just taste that makes it work, but texture, too.
My Experience at VegeWay
Since moving to the Northwest part of the valley I have had the pleasure of trying almost everything on the menu at the VegeWay in Centennial Hills. They NEVER disappoint! Every meal that I have had on their menu has been mouth-watering. Taste and texture (I’m a big texture eater) are spot-on. I also love how they keep their social media presence active. I follow them on Instagram for the latest news, daily specials and new menu items that are coming soon.
The VegeWay “plant-based fast food” menu includes vegan burgers, vegan popcorn chicken, French fries, sweet potato fries, curly fries, VegeWay patties, vegan fish tacos, vegan tacos for Taco Tuesday, fried zucchini, a vegan beef sandwich, a vegan chicken wrap and vegan milkshakes. They are continually expanding their menu. You can see the full updated menu here.
My favorites are the double vegan burger, the vegan beef sandwich, the tacos on Taco Tuesday and their curly fries!
If you are in the area of either of these 2 locations, I highly recommend stopping in for a quick bite. The atmosphere is laidback, everyone is so friendly and the food is spectacular. Bring your non-vegan friends too. They won’t even know the difference.
